      McIlroy missed short putts on the 16th and 18th holes. He also had a poor sand-save record.

    • 7/14: Scotland's Robert MacIntyre finally wins at -18 (262) by one stroke over Adam Scott. Free drop from deep rough on #16 enables him to eagle hole. He sinks 20 foot putt on #18 to finsh 3-3-3..

    • 7/18: Top three are Daniel Brown (ENG) -6, Shane Lowry -5 and Justin Thomas -3
    • 7/19: Lowry leads at -7 after double bogey on #11. Brown and Justin Rose are at -5
      DeChambeau +9, McIlroy +11, and Woods +14 miss the +6 cut

      Schauffle wins the Open Championship with a final round of 65 for a -9 total. Rose and Herschel tie for 2nd at -7 with birdies on #17 and #18.
      Schauffle now heads to the Olympics in Paris to defend his title. Rose was the first Olympic Gold Medalist in 2016.
